That which is evil could be categorized by three basic energies: Satanic, Luciferic and Abraxic. The most basic is the Satanic which is just plain evil, while Abraxic is the energy of confusion. While they are both forces of the dark side they are not of the seductive nature.
What is seductive is that which is known as the Luciferic. It is an energy which comes through various guises and whose program is to masquerade as, and take people off track of, Divinity. It is also capable of viciousness beyond most peoples’ wildest nightmares, but it is more of a seductive nature in its initial approach. It may show up in the guise of a friend or teacher who tries very hard to get you to claim ownership of something which is not yours. I have had three different people push me, at times vehemently, to claim authorship for that which moves through me, but is clearly not of me. In the teaching from which they come it is an ego boost to get someone to claim ownership of talents and abilities. The only problem is, in the case of healing, it has become quite clear to me that it is something which came on its own and could very well leave that way. My getting caught up in ownership would feed the ego and might very well crash me.
A while back I had a client show up who was being viciously attacked by some dark entity. She had spent some time serving as a backup medium (feeding her channeled energy) for a famous healer/medium in a third world country. What had happened is that the Luciferic had come through and found a susceptible tidbit for its antics. Her ego was primed and ready to be the great teacher and she was had. When we first started working I advised her and she agreed to stop all spiritual practices; as what she thought was Divinity, was corrupted. After being viciously attacked after each session for several weeks at a time, I got to see what the problem was. She was unwilling to give up the glamour of being the psychic/healer/teacher. I watched her walk down the street with her miniature dog in hand and give people unasked for messages. Each time she opened her third eye to the Astral, they had her.
Shortly after that episode I stopped working with her. The attacks had begun to come directly through her verbally in addition to the nighttimes horrors projected in an attempt to derail me. I saw that there was nothing that I could do if she wasn’t willing to do it herself. It took weeks and months to clear all the aspects of this entity and I have had lots of training and experience.
I saw firsthand what could happen and remembered stories from others regarding the subject, as well as rumors of trained exorcists disappearing. There was also the story of a very highly evolved, enlightened being, who was plagued for several years by an entity he tried to remove from someone. I had heard his teachings about staying away from the non-integrous and now I know why. As a result, I have stepped back from playing the exorcist. Oh, entities still leave during classes and sessions, but they are released by those carrying them, rather than my egoistic attempts at de-possession.
I have taken to heart the teachings passed down to me. “Never trust a teacher who is not now or never been in a body; unless you are able to first accurately test the level of consciousness of the medium and the entity on the other side.” Like fresh fruit, if you can’t smell the ripeness and sweetness, it isn’t. All of the spiritual truths applicable to this reality have already been spoken by those who were here. If the great Avatars of our time (Jesus, Buddha, Zoroaster, Krishna) didn’t go there, don’t.
Don’t confuse psychic abilities with advanced levels of consciousness; they are not the same thing. The ability to open to the Astral and converse with its denizens is not a substitute for personal growth. It may take some work to achieve mastery of mediumship, but it is not a substitute for the complete surrender required to reach enlightenment or even the levels of love. Don’t think you can go to some psychic fair and not get glommed on by some entity hanging around the open portals. Those that come to my classes after partaking in these sideshows waste all their time with me releasing these entities instead of moving forward. Yes, they feel better afterward but they simply are getting back to “Go”.
The New Age saying of “It’s All Good” calibrates under the level of integrity. “It’s all perfect” is true, but that merely refers to the Karmic enfoldment of life on this planet. Everything is the perfect expression of what it is; be it the rapist or the lover. I doubt that you would call the rapist good, but he is the perfect expression of that consciousness.
While I’m at it, let’s look at the popularity of indigenous practices which have generated much interest in the past few decades. While many of them have discovered ways in which to manipulate energy and consciousness, they also contain many aspects which are not considered integrous in western culture. It is not uncommon for various shamans to install energetic implants into their followers or clients. In some cultures, the healers are also warriors. When asked which he preferred most, healing or killing, one Amazonian healer smiled and replied; “I like them both”.
I have met some western healers who, having studied these indigenous teachings, have maintained a high level of integrity, integrating the information with their own western trainings. Unfortunately, I have also met many, many more who have not taken the time to do the inner work of transcending their own egoist drives. I will have to admit that I myself was one of these, wielding healing as an extension and representation of my own self worth.
In the end, what it boils down to is what one’s own deep inner commitment is. If one is seeking the path of enlightenment, and desires to transcend the need to come back for more Karmic opportunities, then one has to make the most of the present one. At some time one wakes up and realizes that these activities have all been distractions; that they have been wasting time, and that all these pursuits were taken for the glamour, entertainment and curiosity.
“Straight and narrow is the path” the Buddha said. “Waste no time” says David Hawkins. Jesus, in realizing the difficulty in reaching enlightenment on this planet with all the negativity and distractions, taught Salvation as a goal which would lead to one of the Heavenly Realms, where one could work towards enlightenment in an easier atmosphere. But even the more modest goal of Salvation, which is similar to Lotus Land Buddhism, requires a dedication to truth and love.
Is it an easy path? No, not at all, but then neither is life a walk in the park for most. It is simply what is required to reach what many are unconsciously drawn to. Socrates said that all men choose what they think is the good. The problem is that the ego has no way of knowing what that is. Many, many teachers have attained a fairly high level of consciousness, only to be tripped up by some temptation which snuck in out of the blue. They cause trouble for many students because their early writings and teachings are integrous; leaving one open for the hook which appeared after they had fallen. Sometimes, it’s the teachings which are later corrupted by others who mistranslate or misinterpret them in order to validate their own wishes or misdeeds. In the end it is up to each one of us to make sure that we do not get led astray. We have to rely on those teachings which are integrous, which have stood the test of time, and were laid down by those whose presence on the planet have changed the context of reality for millenniums.
Dr David Hawkins has compiled a list, which has reached 40 characteristics of true spiritual teachers and teachings. There are various versions of the list, of which the most complete is on page 188 of his latest book “Reality, Spirituality and Modern Man”. The list is by no means inclusive however it is like the lines demarking the edges of a road through a spiritual minefield. Many are those who stray from the straight and narrow path and I find myself repeatedly checking to make sure that which I show up as remains within the demarcation. The spiritual ego is constantly tempted to rear its head up and proclaim its divinity. The Luciferic has not given up, and will not, until there is nothing left of what has been David.
“By their fruits shall you know them”, said Jesus. If you look at what comes out of a particular teacher or body of work, you can get an idea as to its level of consciousness and integrity. If there is a lot of glamour and fancy promises of sex, power and money, then that is the hook by which people are snared. If a teacher’s followers commit acts which violate laws or common decency and respect, then chances are that is the energy which the teacher put out. An enlightened being has no need for exterior trappings. He realizes that they are distractions from the inner beauty which radiates as an intrinsic part of Divinity.
