A meditative tour through the realm
of human consciousness
One day, in between a pair of hurricanes in Florida, I stepped into a Buddhist Temple located in a mini strip mall on the edge of the Everglades. I had heard that there was a traveling collection of the relics of the Buddha, which was worth the visit. I had no idea as to the import of this event, and had only allowed two hours for what I thought was merely a curiosity. This curiosity changed my life.
In viewing these relics I experienced a glimpse into the potential of human consciousness. The field surrounding the remains of Shakyamuni Buddha (Siddhartha) and his “heart disciples” was profound in its radiance of a total integration of heart, mind and subtle body consciousness.
In the peace of the aftermath of the second hurricane, I read “Power vs. Force”, the first of a trilogy by Dr. David R. Hawkins on the nature of consciousness and the state of enlightenment. Dr. Hawkins succinctly describes the changes in brain and consciousness function which accompanies advanced states. This information, coupled with my experiences with the relics and other teachings, opened the door to a whole new reality.
I discovered the ability to open to a profound state of heart and mind consciousness and facilitate others in this process. The sessions which I facilitated with those ready to receive the deepest levels of love, consciousness and the healing that accompanies it, left us all in a state of bliss. Opening the brain’s frontal lobe along with the heart consciousness, and integrating these with the consciousness of the subtle bodies is a profound experience. Communication with others in this state of consciousness is true communion. It is the essence of unconditional love.
The level of consciousness of unconditional love is where the miraculous happens. This is not about anyone doing anything. Here there is no doer or doing. It is intention manifesting and un-manifesting in a simultaneous act of creation, by the grace of Divinity. This is an act of surrender; as it is not one’s personal will which accomplishes the miraculous, but Divine will, which has infinitely more power.
There is a caveat here in that local conditions must favor this creation. These include but are not limited to: Karma (i.e. unconscious guilt), specific beliefs, emotional states and the physical circumstances of one’s life. One thing that trumps Karma is choice; the choice to surrender one’s will to God/Divinity and asking for help in forgiveness of the past(s). This has a direct effect upon unconscious guilt. By forgiving oneself and others, we are diffusing the super ego (the punitive parent), and dissolving both conscious and unconscious guilt.
Repeatedly choosing this “Discovery” and surrendering one’s personal will to the Divine, creates the likelihood of making that choice again. This can easily lead to creating a life of contemplation, where instead of meditating at a specific time and day, one is blissfully aware of the presence of the Field/Divinity during one’s everyday existence.
I call this a Discovery as there is no place to go or entities to invoke. It is the releasing of that which veils non-linear or spiritual reality. In the words of the 20th century enlightened master, Nisargadata Maharaj; “The person does not get liberated; the Self is liberated from the person.”... Or, in other words; “Divinity shines forth like the sun when the clouds that are blocking it are removed.”…David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D. |
